I have always been passionate about agriculture and the bush and have worked in commodity logistics since graduating from Sydney University. My work has taken me to the UK, Switzerland and Kenya as I strive to gain more knowledge and understanding of primary production and the systems and people involved in it. 

I am now settled back in the region I grew up and find great job in being a part of my community, both through work and in sport and music pursuits.

In between then and now, I’ve managed a fast-paced restaurant, renovated a couple of houses, moved to the other end of the country, started a family, and started my career with Qube.

Working for Qube for the past 8+ years has been remarkable and during that time I’ve had the opportunity to learn and be involved in a vast number of projects and operations.

I began working in an Administration role in Brisbane, also working part time in Hospitality. I then moved to a Customer Service role for a Transport company and during my time there progressed into other roles such as Service Quality, Rehabilitation Co-Ordinator and was a Health and Safety Representative.

This started my interest in Health & Safety and Injury Management. I commenced a role as QLD Injury Management Coordinator with a Labour Hire Company. The role later became redundant which then gave me the opportunity to evaluate where I wanted to be, which was in Health and Safety. Although I couldn’t find the role I wanted, I found the pathway to the industry I wanted to be in. This pathway opened many other pathways, and opportunities to network with people which then lead to my journey commencing with Qube as a HSE Advisor.

I worked with Qube on a mining operation in Central QLD, before then being given the opportunity to travel to Esperance, Western Australia with Qube. What was supposed to be a 3 month project, turned out to be a relocation to Perth to manage the Health and Safety for 2 sites and later a step up to the role that I’m currently in, which is National HSE Advisor. 

Over the past 6 years at Qube, I have had the honour of not only expanding my experience and knowledge in Health and Safety, but also continuing to learn how each every day, the Transport and Logistics industry ties in with many other industries, such as Mining, Port Operations, and Forestry to name a few.

After visiting Townsville on a holiday, I made the decision to move there as the city just had something that drew me in. In Townsville I joined a temp-agency and was placed with a Logistics Company as an Admin Assistant and progressed to Admin Manager.

An opportunity came about to assist with a transition project following Qube acquiring a North QLD based transport company, so I applied for the position of Admin Manager and was successful.This started my journey with Qube. There was a lot to be done and I sunk my teeth into every bit of it. It was a fantastic experience and an unmatched learning opportunity. I’d not had much to do with transitions so this was all new and very exciting.

And the rest I guess you would say is history.

Over the past 11 years with Qube, I’ve had the privilege to travel throughout QLD assisting with the start-up of new operations and assist other divisions who don’t have staff based in North Queensland. This has been great exposure to what Qube has to offer as a company and the limitlessness of the Transport & Logistics Industry.
